Hello everyone.  As I'm sure you've already noticed, I'm taking over the duties of managing the Web Ring for Rod Hannah.  Rod has retired from the GI Joe online communtiy, closed his web pages, and given bits and pieces from them to other webmasters in the online community.    I've taken over the WEB RING completeley.  Please excuse the present appearance of the site, I'll try to make it a nicer place to visit.

This is the oldest and largest G.I. Joe webring on the net, started in 1997. If you have a G.I. Joe web site concentrating on the 3' 3/4" Action Figures, Comic or Cartoon based on G.I. Joe, then please submit it for addition to this web ring. Email me if you need help with anything.

That said, I'm going to need to lay down some ground rules, so we're all on the same page so to speak.  Rod spent a lot of time and effort on bringing together the 3' 3/4" Joe community, and this Web Ring was one of many of his projects, and his longest standing one.  In order to keep the spirit of the original idea going, I've jotted down some key rules that I don't think are unreasonable for everyone to follow.  In fact, they're all pretty much common sense, and most of them are taken directly from Rod's original requirements.
 

• Page must be related to the 3' 3/4" line in some way.  It can deal with either the figures, comic, cartoon, or whatever floats your boat.  This does not include 12' Joes. Neither does the webring include business and general toy collecting pages. The majority of the content must be focused on G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero. If this does not sound like you, then do me a favour and look elsewhere for a more suitable ring.  Keep in mind that if you link to the webring and only briefly mention the Joes, while you describe everything else about yourself, then  you'll be taken off the ring.  This is a NOT a way to advertise about you.  People want to see Joes, not pictures of your dog.

• No page updates in over a year may result in site being removed from the ring.  Another common sense one.  Anyone going to a site on the ring, be it a collector or a fan, doesn't want to see something like "New Joes coming to stores winter of 1997!!"  Its old information, and only shows that you've abandoned your site.  If you're site is a database of drawings, or images or whatever it probably won't get dropped, but its generally good practice on the web to do *something* new every once and a while, even if its to just change the date.

• A valid email address should be provided on the site, and any change in email address must be given to the ringmaster, or site may be removed from the ring.  This is necessary in case I need to get in touch with you for whatever reason.

• If the URL of your site changes, please update your URL on the ring.

• Please post the 'ring table' on either your index page, or at least your links page.  This helps every member of the ring draw traffic to the site, and whats the purpose of joining a ring if you don't plan to point someone else to it?

• Pages containing pornagraphic images, racism, ads for adult sites, or other adult matter will be removed, as none of which pertain to GI Joe.  If you think this is silly, it wouldn't be here if it wasn't done already.

After you have been accepted into the Web Ring and have received e-mail clarification, you should add this code to the bottom of your main page.
